As you cater for a variety of events, what colours and styles do you find are currently trending?

The “Vintage” or “Rustic” look is still quite popular with our brides and suits our venue well. Otherwise, the classic white and navy blue is also very current, with fresh white florals and fresh green foliage.

With the beautiful gardens of Mt Coot-tha surrounding the venue, what are some of the prime photo locations?

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens are brimming with picturesque photographic locations, perfect for Bridal Photos. The Japanese Garden is always popular, with cherry blossoms and Japanese toros setting the scene. The Monet bridge over the lake is another well-liked scout. The Garden’s has also recently opened a new section of the garden to the public, so more prime spots are sure to be sought out there!

What feature of your venue do you pride in the most?

Our expansive Deck is a great asset as it allows people to have an “outdoor” wedding ceremony and/or reception while still being protected from unfortunate weather!

What are some of the available options for wedding ceremonies?

We host wedding ceremonies on our Deck, which is great for brides as they still feel immersed in the gardens but are protected from the elements. The Brisbane Botanical Gardens also has three wedding lawns within the gardens themselves, and the Deck can be hired as a wet weather back-up.

What is the capacity of your venue?

Using the full venue, we can host 400 people sit-down and 600 cocktail. Ideally, our maximum for weddings would be 220 sit down so everyone has a view of the Bridal Table.

Do you have any dishes that prove time again to be a favourite?

All of our food is restaurant-quality but if there is one meal that continuously gets praised, it’s the Soy-braised Beef Cheek with wasabi mash and brocolini. It melts in your mouth!

If you want a venue situated amongst beautiful greenery; an available option of weather-safe ceremony space still immersed in the astonishing surrounds; and a delectable restaurant-quality menu, the Botanical at Mt Coot-tha is an extraordinary option for choosing.
